Alright, a confession. It's always bothered me that dragons have six legs. Four that they walk on and two wings. Has anyone else ever thought that?
And why did the people who developed dragon legends give them four legs and wings? They already had perfectly good two-legged, two-winged dragons that they got from pterosaur fossils.
